New advances in anticoagulant-free PRP technology

In collaboration with Croma-Pharma, we have published new findings in Frontiers in Pharmacology demonstrating a next-generation, anticoagulant-free approach to preparing platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

The study shows that platelet-rich preparations can be generated in a single, soft-spin centrifugation step, without the need for chemical additives. This method produces a preparation that more closely reflects native platelet biology while preserving full platelet functionality.

Key findings include high platelet yields, efficient removal of unwanted cellular components, and maintained platelet activation and responsiveness. The findings may also help researchers study platelets under more physiological conditions, improving the relevance of preclinical models for thrombo-inflammatory research.
